ca·den·za (n) 1. An extended virtuosic section for the soloist usually near the end of a movement of a concerto or aria. 2. A metaphor for a moment of artistic jubilation, pertaining to or resulting from a new discovery, interpretation, or sensation of deep fulfillment from one's art.
